The Pottery has a long history on the farm, having opened as a pottery workshop in the 1970s. It has been running as a Ceramic Café for the past seven years.

Our Islay Pottery

Not only do we have our pottery for sale, but offer pottery painting workshops for those who fancy a try. Feeling peckish? Pop in for a bite to eat in our Islay Café.

Pottery Painting Workshops for all Ages

Fancy giving pottery painting a go? Choose from a variety of unglazed bisque shapes, and we will help you whip up a masterpiece. Rosemary will guide you through her pottery painting workshop showing various techniques.

You can paint your own unique design onto a piece of pottery of your choice. She will then glaze and fire your finished pieces, ready for collection a few days later. In a rush? Not to worry, you can paint your piece with acrylics, and Rosemary will varnish it, ready for you to take home that day.

Pottery workshops are available on most days from April to October. We don’t take bookings for painting workshops during these months. You are very welcome to just turn up during opening hours and if there is space around the table Rosemary will guide you through the process.
During our quieter months, October to March, booking is advisable for painting workshops. Please phone us on 01496840243 during the autumn and winter months if you are planning on a painting workshop and we will have the wood burning stove roaring for you.

April to September, simply turn up on the day for our pottery painting classes. We work on a first come, first served basis.
