There is plenty of choice when it comes to dining out on Islay and Jura. The islands’ restaurants and cafes celebrate the local produce with seafood platters, game, beef and lamb all on offer. Delicious home baking can be found in the small cafes, as well as the fantastic Peatzeria restaurant in Bowmore.

Ardnahoe Distillery

Ardnahoe is a five minute drive along the road from Persabus. The café and restaurant are open 10-5 7 days a week offering hearty meals as well as delicious light snacks. Tea coffee and cake is served from 10am. Lunches from 12 noon with last orders for lunch at 3.45pm Tel 01496 840777

Bars open for drinks including freshly brewed coffees and speciality teas daily from 11am until 11pm inside. Beer garden till late. We will be open for lunches in both bars and beer garden – with fab views  – from 12 – 2.30 last orders. Evening Meals  6 – 8.30PM last orders. Islay Studios

The studio and gallery in Islay square also serves hot drinks, coffees, teas and hot chocolate and selected cakes is open Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm, but the opening hours are likely to be extended as we get closer to the summer.

Labels, Shore Street, Bowmore

This fabulous cafe has now moved premises from Ballygrant to Shore Street Bowmore, where Lynn and her staff serve up delicious light lunches and baking. It also has a beautiful selection of gifts on sale.
