We look forward to offering you a very warm welcome to Persabus soon
At Persabus we are committed to ensuring the health and safety of you, our guests, visitors, and the wider community on Islay. You can read more here
We are working within the current Scottish Government guidelines and regulations around Covid-19. Please check the latest Scottish Government information before you travel to Islay as the guidelines and restrictions are updated regularly. Visiting the Islands
Anyone visiting Scotland’s islands is encouraged to take two lateral flow tests before travelling, as they have had much lower rates of Covid cases.
The first test should be three days before you travel and the second test on the day of travel.
If you test positive, you would be able to take a more-sensitive PCR test to confirm the result before cancelling your visit.
Preparing for your stay at Persabus
We ask guests during this time, when possible, to provide their own towels, (including tea towels if staying in the self catering cottages).
We encourage guests staying in our cottages to use the dishwashers to clean kitchen utensils and equipment. We will provide a few dishwasher tablets to get you started.
In the cottages we supply hand sanitiser, anti-bacterial washing up liquid, a pack of 4 toilet rolls, 2 bin liners, cleaning equipment and anti-bacterial surface disinfectant.
Your stay at Persabus
Prior to guests’ arrival main surfaces have been sanitised using anti-viral disinfectant, including kitchen worktops, dining tables, beside tables and coffee tables
Heavy duty items such as door handles and TV remotes etc have also been sanitised
Non-essential items have been removed including leaflets, books, cushions, throws, and ornaments. Extra cleaning time allows for thorough sanitisation between guests
Guest check in is contactless and each property has its own key deposit box.
We will email the PIN to you prior to arrival if necessary.
In line with our strict cleaning protocols:
Please sanitise your hands when entering the property and wash your hands and sanitise once inside. We ask that you do this each time you enter and leave the property.
Sanitise your hands regularly throughout your stay and when venturing out and about on the island.
In the cottages we ask all guests to regularly clean, wipe and sanitise surfaces, with the cleaning equipment provided, working with us to keep everyone safe and ensuring the properties are kept clean and sanitised at all times.
Household waste can be disposed of in the main dustbins. These are situated in the main yard at the entrance across from the pottery building. Blue bins are for cardboard, paper, plastic and tin. Green bins for general waste. The nearest glass bins are at the roundabout at Caol ila or in Keills opposite the bus shelter.
Dogs deserve a lovely holiday too and we hope your best friend enjoys the accommodation and island and feels right at home exploring whilst sticking to our simple petiquette guide:
Keep on leash when around farmland
Bag dog waste and place in dustbins
Keep paws off furniture
Please keep in mind social distancing procedures in place when out and about on the farm and in the community.
Keeping two metres apart from people out with your group always
Before you leave
In line with the new cleaning protocols issued across the UK
We ask guests in our cottages and the bed and breakfast suite to please strip all beds before departure and place the linen, including pillow and mattress protectors, in the linen bags provided and seal them. Please do not shake the linen.
Please empty all bins and place rubbish in the main dustbins in the main yard by the entrance across from the pottery building.
Please leave the windows open to air the property before departure.
Properties must be vacated by 10.00am promptly on your day of departure. An extra night’s fee will be incurred for later departures.
Please leave the property unlocked and if staying in the cottages please leave the keys on the table in the kitchen.
